If I werent me and viewed the majority of my artwork, I would probably say, Gee, that artist must love flowers. And it would, in a way, be a true statement too. Most of my works are indeed floral, but not necessarily for my love of the flower but more for my love of the form, the curves and the vitality of the colors. They just happen to mostly be found together in the world of the flora. But the arc, the curve, the ellipse and the ever-popular nautilus these are the real visuals that have me sketching. Filling more than a couple of pages in the ol sketchbook until I hit on just the right balance of shapes. I enjoy beauty very much, which is what ultimately led me to my current medium of glass. It may seem unforgiving and hard, but its colors appear so liquid and the way that it can react with even a minor change of light makes it a tricky challenge and always exciting to work with.
