Brigétte has expressed artistic talent since she was very young; participating in art and pottery in her younger years. As an adult, she’s enjoyed interior design and helping her kids with their school art projects.
Originally from Spokane, WA, then many years in San Diego, CA, Brigétte, her husband and son moved to northern California a few years ago where they own a 17 acre farm/fruit orchard, growing their own food and homeschooling their son. They have 5 grown children and 7 grandchildren who also call San Diego home.
In 1998 Brigétte tried her hand at mosaics and caught the bug. To be sure that this was something that she really wanted to do, she took some classes. From there she not only left with the bug, but an addiction and a plan to mosaic the world!
A past member of the Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA), in 2007 Brigétte participated in their community project for the Southwest Human Development Center in Phoenix, AZ., as well as SAMA’s community projects in both 2008 and 2009.
In 2008 she founded Mosaic Milieu, where she taught not only adults on site, but in the San Diego Unified School District’s after school programs.
Brigétte is currently working on a ‘donors plaque’ wall that will hang above a cob bench that she mosaicked in a beautiful orchard facing a redwood grove on the ranch of the famous Seabiscuit.
“My clientele are usually people looking for something different and unique. They play a very important role in creating a piece and may involve themselves as much or as little as they’d like”
